Bible word games combine two things many people enjoy every day: a short puzzle and time with Scripture. The App Store now has dozens of them, and they work very differently — some are crosswords, some are trivia quizzes, some decode verses, and some are solitaire.

Word connect and crosswords
Bible Word Puzzle (OakEver Games) is the most-rated Bible word game on the App Store. You connect letters to form words, and solving puzzles collects illustration pieces that complete Bible stories. It suits players who like classic word-connect games and want something to look at as they progress.
Holyscapes (also by OakEver Games) is a crossword game for Christians with more than 3,000 puzzles, according to its store page, and you collect Bible verses as you go. If you enjoy crosswords, start here.
Word search and trivia
Bible Word Search (UniRise Digital) builds its word search levels around biblical themes and adds a Bible trivia section and a Verse of the Day. A good choice if you want something relaxing rather than tricky.
Daily Bible Trivia (Super Lucky Games) is a quiz rather than a word puzzle: more than 1,000 levels of questions from the Old and New Testaments, drawing on the KJV and NIV, with daily verses. Pick it if you want to test what you know.
Verse puzzles
Lord’s Word (Sophun Games) is a cipher game: numbers stand in for letters, and cracking the code reveals a full King James Bible verse. It is the most “brain-teaser” app in this list, and the one most focused on reading Scripture itself.
Bible solitaire
Two kinds of game share the name “Bible solitaire,” and it helps to know which one you want.
Card solitaire with a faith theme. Bible Solitaire – Daily Pray and The Official Bible Solitaire are classic solitaire card games paired with Bible inspiration and verses. The rules are the solitaire you already know.
Word category solitaire. Bible Word Solitaire Puzzle — our game — uses solitaire moves, but the cards are Bible words and pictures that you sort into themes such as the Books of the Old Testament, the Apostles or the Fruits of the Spirit. It has a campaign that moves from familiar topics like the Christmas Story to harder ones like the Jewish feasts, a Custom Game mode for endless play, a dictionary of the words you collect, a daily Bible verse, adjustable text size, and an optional upgrade that removes ads. It is a new app with only a handful of ratings so far.
